The police were alerted to a shooting in Helgalunden on Södermalm in Stockholm at 18:22. Life-saving measures were carried out but at 10.25pm the police announced that the man died at the scene.
Relatives have been notified.
An arrested
Several shots were fired and the man is believed to have been the intended target, the police say.
According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, the police were looking for a man dressed in dark clothing. During the evening, one person was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder.
– In what way it happened or other circumstances of the arrest or who the person is, I cannot go into, says Daniel Wikdahl.
A large police operation took place at the crime scene during the evening. The police dog handler and helicopter were called in.
Shot cars seized
At the time of the murder, many people were in the area. Several were therefore brought in for questioning during the evening.
– Maybe not everyone is a witness to the incident, but it is important for us to find out who did something in order to be able to find the person or people who did this, says Daniel Wikdahl.
Several cars were shot at in connection with the murder and they have been seized for technical examination.
