A man in his 50s has died after a traffic accident in Lidköping, relatives have been informed.
The accident occurred on Saturday evening when the man’s car was hit in the side by another car.
– It must have been a side impact, the cars have been impounded and a technical investigation will be carried out, says Caroline Karlsson, press spokesperson at the police.
Another passenger was in the car who was less seriously injured.
– It’s a traffic accident between two passenger cars, a side collision. A person has been trapped in one of the cars that the emergency services have helped free, says Simon Rosén at the Skaraborg emergency services.
The driver of the other car was arrested and is suspected of a crime.
– The report is gross negligence in traffic, grossly causing the death of another, grossly causing bodily harm and minor drug offenses for personal use and gross drunken driving, but that may change, says Caroline Karlsson.
