Many parties see cutbacks in social care as a necessary evil. GroenLinks, D66, PvdA, Student & Starter, Volt, Bij1, DENK and ChristenUnie understand the proposal of alderman Susanne Schilderman, but want to limit the damage as much as possible. The parties call on the alderman to also look at other cost items. “In Utrecht, we implement a social policy to help the most vulnerable Utrecht residents. You have to stand for that especially in heavy weather,” says group leader Julia Kleinrensink of GroenLinks.
