A flying start.
Or how about two eagles during the first round of The Players Championship in Florida?
Ludvig Åberg played dream golf in his debut.
– It looks very good, says his mentor Peter Hanson to Aftonbladet.

It is called the fifth major, the championship at the classic Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach. Ludvig Åbergwho started on the tenth hole, is immediately in the lead – thanks in large part to the ability to handle the long holes.

Åberg’s success

The young Swedish golf star, who is playing the competition for the first time, managed to go two par 5 holes in just three strokes – in golf parlance it is called “making an eagle”.
– It is not very often that you make two eagles. It was obviously a bonus that the putts fell in, but what I like is that I make good swings, hit good putts and play the holes in a good way, says Åberg to Aftonbladet.

The 24-year-old had the chance for a few more birdies but those putts didn’t go in.

Two strokes behind

At the end he bogeyed but immediately made up for it with his second birdie of the day on the final hole.

The 67 round means that Ludvig Åberg is in the lead ahead of Friday’s 18 holes. When the round was canceled due to darkness, he was tied for sixth place.
– I am very impressed. It must be remembered that all this is still new to him. Today he plays with Adam Scott who he has looked up to for a long time and Patrick Cantlay who is a big star. Nevertheless, he feels very calm and harmonious, says Peter Hanson to Aftonbladet.
