Linn Svahn’s serious words about the comeback of Norwegian skiing queen Therese Johaug: “Of course I am…”

Therese Johaug has opened for a comeback.
Which has made big headlines in the skiing world.
Now Linn Svahn gives her honest view of what Johaug’s return would mean.

One of skiing’s most successful cross-country skiers can return to the slopes again. The Norwegian ski queen Therese Johaug surprised most people when, a few weeks ago, she opened up about making a comeback again.

Johaug’s message

Johaug is seriously interested in starting to compete again and compete in the Skiing World Cup on home soil in Trondheim in 2025. The Norwegian has won a total of 14 World Cup golds and clearly does not seem to be completely satisfied yet.

It was last year that Johaug ended the successful career as one of the sport’s all-time greats. Since then she has become a mother and appeared as a TV expert in Norway.

Svahn’s fear

Now the Swedish skiing star gives Lynn Svahn his honest view of what it would mean to meet Therese Johaug in the tracks again.
– It has happened many times before. (Marit) Björgen did it and several others. The mother effect is usually strong, admits the Swede in a TV interview with SportExpressen.

Svahn also shows a clear fear that Johaug gained extra powers and a completely new motivation after she became a mother for the first time.
– Yes absolutely. But everything is moving forward all the time and I think that in 2025 quite a few people will be in good years then. Of course I’m afraid of the mother effect, but I think that everyone who is here is doing their part to be the best in 2025, says Linn in the interview.
– You still have to be humble that everyone tries to be as good as possible at a championship. Regardless of whether you had a child the year before or not.
