In an incident that took place at Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, on Thursday morning, a 57-year-old female passenger got her foot stuck in the walking belt in Terminal 2. It is stated that the medical teams and officials intervened to save the passenger. On the other hand, local media announced that the woman’s leg was amputated above the knee at the scene by paramedics.

EXPLANATION FROM THE AIRPORT MANAGER

Expressing that they are investigating how the incident occurred, airport officials said, “Don Mueang Airport Manager and management visited the patient to follow his treatment. They received information from the Bhumibol Hospital medical team that the patient is currently in the process of being treated by the medical team. “Don Mueang Airport is deeply saddened by the incident and is fully responsible for all treatment and compensation costs,” it said.

It was announced that the cause of the incident was investigated and all the airport’s moving walkways were suspended while the engineers were doing security checks.

The airport manager defended the airport’s routine maintenance and controls and said the walkway has been in service for 39 years.
