  • Swedbank overloaded by the electricity subsidy

Several customers are currently experiencing problems registering a bank account for the electricity subsidy. Swedbank now urges customers who cannot access the website to try later.

    – Right now there are many people who want to register at the same time. This means that it takes longer for many to enter. We really regret that, says Hannes Mård, press communicator at Swedbank.

By the thirteenth of February at the latest, you must register your account for the electricity subsidy via Swedbank.

    – There is still plenty of time for those who need to register an account for the electricity subsidy to do so, says Hannes Mård.

  • Sunni leader: Boycott Sweden

Al-Azhar University in Cairo – the Sunni Muslim world’s foremost religious institution – is calling on Muslims worldwide to boycott Sweden and the Netherlands, AP reports.

On Sunday, Edwin Wagensveld, Dutch leader of the far-right Pegida movement, tore pages from the Koran near the Dutch parliament in The Hague. He is also said to have stepped on them.

al-Azhar calls the actions a crime against Muslims. The university also believes that a boycott of both countries would be an appropriate response to the governments that protect “barbaric crimes under the inhumane and immoral banner they call freedom of speech.”

On Wednesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the West’s initiative to send heavy tanks to Ukraine is part of a “failed plan”, reports AFP.
