Four men and one woman aged 20-25 were arrested this weekend for involvement in three murders and several other violent crimes in Kalmar in the past year, the police write in a press release.

Two of the suspects were arrested in Norway and the others in Stockholm.

“After this weekend’s police operations in Oslo and Stockholm, a total of 13 suspects are now under arrest or in custody for involvement in the wave of violence that hit Kalmar in 2022. The murders have connections to an ongoing conflict between criminal groups,” says District Attorney Johan Henningsson, who leads a number of the preliminary investigations.

  • The president may break with Taiwan

    Honduran President Xiomara Castro has instructed the country’s foreign minister to open up official relations with China, Reuters writes.

    That would mean that the country would have to cut off its official relations with Taiwan. It is a requirement from China.

    In a tweet, Castro explained the decision as “a sign of my determination to pursue the government’s plan and expand the borders.”

    Taiwan’s foreign ministry commented to Reuters that “they are in the process of understanding the situation”, but would not provide further details.

    Should Honduras break official ties, only 13 countries remain with diplomatic ties to Taiwan.

  • Biden wants to see new gun laws
