Leak: IS is coordinating in Afghanistan
In leaked documents reviewed by the Washington Post newspaper, US officials assess that Afghanistan has become a haven for terrorists again, TT reports.
According to the documents, the terrorist movement IS has planned about ten different attacks against American or European targets. The coordination must take place from Afghanistan.
The actions come from the large and difficult to assess security leak that has attracted a lot of attention in recent weeks.
A spokesperson for the Biden administration’s National Security Council told the Washington Post that the United States has retained the ability to strike out terrorists on the battlefield “without a permanent presence of soldiers on the ground.”

France begins evacuation
France now announces that it too will evacuate French citizens from Sudan, AFP reports.
American diplomats and their families were recently evacuated. Among others, China and Great Britain must also evacuate personnel.
On Saturday, the Swedish government held a press conference where they announced sending an armed force to Sudan to be able to evacuate the Swedish embassy.
The background to the conflict in Sudan is a power struggle between the Sudanese army, led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the paramilitary forces RSF (Rapid Support Forces) led by General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. Both claim to lead the country.
Åkesson wants to be in government – after the next election at the latest

Personnel crisis within the Correctional Service
Due to staff shortages within the Correctional Service, inmates will be kept locked in their cells for more hours, reports Sweden’s Radio Echo.
At Hällby, prisoners have been locked up for two more hours per day since March 27. By doing so, the institution has saved ten positions.
New chairman of the Republican Association
The Republican Association’s newly elected chairman is Niclas Malmberg. He is 52 years old, lives outside Uppsala and has previously been a member of the Riksdag and cultural policy spokesperson for the Green Party.
“I will invite Head of State Carl Gustaf Bernadotte to a meeting to discuss the amendments to the constitution that need to be prepared in anticipation of the introduction of the republic,” he says in a press release.

Americans evacuated from Sudan
American diplomats and their families have been evacuated from Sudan with the help of RSF during the night to Sunday, the paramilitary forces write on Twitter.
A power struggle within the military regime in Sudan degenerated into great violence on Saturday 15 April.
The fighting is between the Sudanese army, led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the paramilitary RSF (Rapid Support Forces) led by General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. (TT)
New bomb found in Russian city
More than 3,000 people were evacuated on Saturday in the Russian city of Belgorod after an undetonated bomb was found.
It was floated away to a field where it was detonated under controlled conditions.
The discovery was made just two days after a Russian warplane accidentally dropped a powerful bomb that exploded in the middle of the city.
Whether the new bomb came from the same aircraft is unclear, but it was found according to the BBC in the same area.
New cable car worries nudists
Plans to build a cable car across the Danube are causing some concern in Vienna – at least among the large group of nudists who usually stay where the cable car is supposed to slide past.

Former prime minister arrested
Burundi’s former Prime Minister Alain-Guillaume Bunyoni has been arrested by the security service, TT reports.
Bunyoni was forced out of his post in September 2022 after President Evariste Ndayishimiye purged the political administration. This after coup plots against him were discovered.
It is still unclear what Bunyoni is suspected of.
Drove into trees – two to hospital after single-vehicle accident
The emergency services were called on Saturday evening to a road in Tranemo municipality due to a car accident.
– It was quite a curvy road so the car had gone off the road, into a tree and laid on its side, says Per Fägersten at the rescue service.

– We had to help one person out of the car. Two have had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
The people were awake when they were taken to hospital. Otherwise, the damage situation is unclear.

Hello! According to the district court, the sentence for, among other things, murder was only 2 years and 11 months because he was not of legal age when the crime was committed.
“His youth has been taken into account when sentencing,” the district court writes in the verdict.
For a person over the age of 18, the penalty for murder, on the other hand, can amount to life.
Why do you insist on calling the gym killer “the boy” in your latest article where he was found? If you are 17 and already a hired killer, you are hardly a boy anymore. Shame he didn’t get a real punishment.
