On June 9, a man was charged with, among other things, attempted terrorism.

According to the NCDK, the Kurdish Democratic Society Centre, there is an item in the preliminary investigation report Säpo classified the NCDK as a terrorist organization.

NCDK is a Swedish cultural association for Kurds and has not been classified as a terrorist by either Sweden, the EU or the UN.

    – This was a wording that appeared during one out of 12 interrogations with the suspect. It is a transcription of a conversation, but exactly why the wording looks like that in the transcribed interrogation I cannot comment on, says Fredrik Hultgren-Friberg, Säpo press spokesperson.

He adds that Säpo does not make its own classifications of organizations and that NCDK is not classified as a terrorist organization in any such context.

Prosecutor Hans Ihrman, at the National Security Unit, confirms that it was stated during an interrogation.

    – It is an individual interrogator and that is a completely different matter. That group is not terrorist classified and it is a question that is asked in an interrogation, that is what is expressed. It is not an official stance, that group is not classified as a terrorist, says Hans Ihrman.
