Kristersson in conversation with Mette Frederiksen

In recent days, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has had a “close dialogue” with Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen regarding the burning of holy scriptures,” he writes on Instagram.

“We are in the most serious security policy situation since the Second World War, and here at home we know that both states, state-like actors and individuals can take advantage of the situation,” writes Kristersson.

Sweden and Denmark are two of the world’s most well-functioning democracies, the text continues.

“We stand up for freedom of expression and freedom of demonstration. We have a strong tradition of respecting other people and different beliefs. Freedom of religion is an obvious cornerstone in our societies,” writes Kristersson.
