Färjestad dominated large parts of the first period and after just under six minutes of play, the visitors took the lead away to HV71 when Joakim Nygård scored 1-0 “köksvägen”. The home team then took a timeout with four minutes left in the first period.
HV71’s Johan Lindbom was anything but satisfied with how his team performed in the first period:
– I think we are lousy today from start to finish in the first period. Half the team… I don’t know where they are. Public riding or something.
However, the second period was not a fun story for HV71, either. Färjestad increased after a new goal via “köksvägen”. This time it was Joel Kellman who was the scorer.
The match ended 2-0 to Färjestad.
