There has been a change in the ownership of Team Jokerit Oy, which operates behind the ice hockey club Helsingin Jokeri.

Acted as the sole owner of the company Joel Harkimo has given up his ownership of the company. The matter is clear from the trade register information. According to it, no owner information can be found from the company at the moment.

Urheilu has reached out to Joel Harkimo to comment on the ownership issue.

He is the only member of the company’s board of directors Jorma Mäkinen, who has represented Jokerit Ry on the company’s board. Therefore, Mäkinen is the company’s only real beneficiary.

He was the first to tell about it Iltalehti (you switch to another service)to whom the matter was confirmed by the person profiled as the frontman of the Joker’s comeback project Jarmo Koskinen. According to him, the club will announce its new patterns related to ownership in the next few days.

Koskinen is also in the future to become the CEO of Team Jokerit Oy.

The new arrival of the Jokers has been overshadowed, for example, precisely by the ambiguities regarding the club’s ownership. Joel Harkimo announced publicly earlier last August that he is not the “frontman” of the Joker’s new arrival, even though he has been the 100% owner of the background company. Last November, Harkimo did not want to comment on his ownership of the background company to .

Urheilu reported earlier on Wednesday that Team Jokerit Oy has submitted an application for a league spot at Finland’s second highest hockey league level, Mestis.

The application for a league place will be discussed at the meeting of the hockey association’s federal board on February 28. If the application goes through, Jokerit can apply for a Mestis license.

The license application for the 2023–2024 season must be submitted by March 31. Before this, the entity applying for a license must have a series seat granted by the federal government.
