US President Joe Biden is on tour in California and at a meeting there he called Vladimir Putin a “shithole”.
This was something that the Russian president’s spokesperson reacted strongly to, and now it is pie-throwing at the highest international level.
– It may appear as an attempt to present himself as a cowboy from Hollywood, but I honestly think that is not possible, says Dimitrij Peskov.
Spokesperson: Will not offend Putin
So now the new sparring is underway between the leaders. A while ago, Putin also commented for the first time on this year’s election rush in the United States, where he said he prefers Biden to Trump.
Dimitrij Peskov believes that Biden’s choice of words will not get under Putin’s skin.
– To use such language against the leader of another country and that it is the president of the United States who does it is hardly something that offends our president, President Putin. But it is probably destructive for the person who uses such language, he says.
In the past, Joe Biden has called Vladimir Putin both a “butcher” and a “war criminal”. The last time they met face to face was at a summit in Geneva, Switzerland in the summer of 2021.
