Israel in Eurovision – were booed on the genre rope

Israel’s entry was awarded at the evening’s rehearsal of the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.

When the country’s contestant Eden Golan performed the song “Hurricane” during the evening replay of the Eurovision Song Contest at Malmö Arena, loud boos were heard.

Waving the Palestinian flag

Some in the audience are also said to have chanted “Free Palestine” and waved a Palestinian flag, despite extensive security checks. The flag has been expressly banned by the organizer EBU.

The performance was the first in front of an audience during the competition week.
