The security police see an increased threat to Sweden, it was stated in a press release earlier this week.
The burning of the Koran in front of the Turkish embassy is a major reason behind the tense situation, which has also led to an international spread of false rumors about Sweden.
“The development means that Sweden is judged to be in greater focus than before for violent Islamism globally,” writes Säpo in its press release.
At the same time, the authority stated that the terror level remains at the same level. So still elevated.
Former Prime Minister Carl Bildt has previously criticized that the police approved the Koran burning from the very beginning.
– We received an increased threat picture after the Koran burning, there is no doubt about that, and there is reason for caution, says Carl Bildt in Sunday’s Efter fem.
He believes that Paludan’s Koran burning has nothing to do with freedom of expression. But is an attempt at pure provocation:
– I don’t know if it is an opinion to burn books – I have a hard time with that argument.
