The man was convicted of murdering a 50-year-old man with a large number of stab wounds in his home in February last year.
The 35-year-old admits that he handed out several stab wounds, but says that it was done as an emergency. He also claims that the fatal stab wounds must have been inflicted by a third person, who came to the apartment after he himself had left.
The district court nevertheless sentenced him to 16 years in prison for murder. Now the Court of Appeal for Western Sweden stiffens the sentence further, to 18 years in prison.
