Ice Hockey Womens League Playoffs Pair Out Fight for

The playoffs in the Women’s League will start on March 26th. The champion will be announced on April 24 at the latest.

The final series of the Women’s Ice Hockey League have been completed and all the playoff pairs in the league are now clear.

The winner of the upper finals was crowned Kiekko-Espoo, who won the regular season for the fourth time in a row. Reigning champion Kiekko-Espoo also secured a home advantage in all his playoff series with a win.

The second place finisher in the upper finals of the Helsinki IFK will be matched by the well-tuned Hämeenlinna Ball Club. HPK just faced KalPan on Sunday in their final match of the lower final series. The people of Hämeenlinna took the match 5–2.

Only one match was played on Sunday in the upper finals. Oulun Kärpät, who finished in third place, grabbed the extra time victory from Tampere’s Ilves with 2–1 goals. In the playoffs, Kärpät will face Team Kuortane and Ilves Turku Palloseura.

The playoffs for the eight teams will start on March 26th. The playoff series are played in the best of three format. The finals of the series will be played from April 17, and the women’s Finnish champion will be announced on April 24 at the latest.
