Ice hockey: Rögle won the important bottom meeting in the SHL against Örebro – after the match penalty

Rögle’s forward Henry Bowlby only got to play a little more than half a period in the important bottom meeting with Örebro.

He had to leave with a match penalty after he sent Örebro’s Filip Berglund into the sidelines 13 minutes into the match (see clip above).

A numerical advantage in five minutes that the Ängelholmarna could not take advantage of.

First SHL goal

A low-scoring event instead got the first and only goal with a couple of minutes left in the second period – and it was a top scorer, to say the least.

The 19-year-old back talent, Axel Smeds, received the puck on the blue line for the visitors and found the far cross for his first career SHL goal.

Measly four shots

Rögle defended impressively and a chasing Örebro only managed four shots against Christoffer Rifalk in the RBK box during the last third.

The victory meant that Rögle overtook Örebro in the table to ninth place. Örebro remains in tenth, with a six-point margin down to a negative qualification.
