Ice hockey: Luleå turned a 0–3 deficit into victory against Modo

96 out of 108 points. That’s Luleå’s result after SDHL’s 36-game regular season.

In the last match against Modo, second in the table, Luleå turned a 0–3 deficit into a 6–3 victory.

“Would rather focus on Luleå”

Despite the three-goal lead, the away team’s Lina Ljungblom did not want to heap praise on Modo’s effort.

– I would rather focus more on Luleå. I know they can do much better. We are doing absolutely well, but then we know that Luleå may not be having its best period, she told TV4 Play.

And Luleå would probably show from a better side.

In the second period, the home team turned the game around within just over nine minutes.

– We weren’t happy after the first one, of course. It was a terrible period, but we got along. We said we would work for what we have on our chest and do the work we have promised the association to do. I am very satisfied and proud of the team, says Luleå’s Linnea Johansson.

Wins the series with 23 (!) points

The victory means that Luleå wins the regular season with a whopping 23 points.

Now the playoffs await for both teams, where Luleå faces Leksand at the same time as Modo faces SDE in the quarter-finals.

The quarterfinal series are played in the best of five games.
