HydraSZN seeks reconsideration for permanent ban from Twitch

Twitch streamer HydraSZN is asking the platform to reconsider the permanent ban it has imposed on him for an unpleasant joke he made in one of his recent broadcasts.

The giant streaming platform owned by Amazon did not hesitate to impose serious bans on many well-known content producers in previous periods. Popular streamers like Adin Ross and Fousey were banned from Twitch, and some even decided to switch to competing platforms. Now, another popular streamer is also making a request to Twitch to lift its ban.

HydraSZN thinks the verdict is heavy

Prior to her ban, HydraSZN was a popular figure within the Fortnite community, with 20,000 followers on her Twitch channel. However, after this success in subscriber count, he was permanently banned by Twitch for an unpleasant joke he made during the broadcast. During the Fortnite match, Hydra made a sexually explicit joke about children while being killed, which was cited by Twitch as the reason for the ban. Now, Hydra is hoping Twitch will give the streamer another chance.

Hydra’s Twitch future uncertain

In a tweet regarding the clip that banned Hydra from Twitch, the publisher is requesting the platform to reconsider its decision. Hydra admits she “deserves” the backlash she got for making an insensitive joke during the broadcast. But Hydra is seeking reconsideration, citing several streamers it thinks have committed worse crimes on Twitch.

While Hydra’s future on Twitch is uncertain, the publisher has already announced plans if the channel’s ban is not lifted. Hydra went live on Twitch rival Kick shortly after the ban and revealed its future plans. Hydra won’t be the first to switch from banned creators to Kick, as popular streamers like the aforementioned Adin Ross and chess publisher Hikaru Nakamura have also made the switch to the platform.

Hydra’s transition to Kick comes as the platform founded by popular publisher Trainwrecks has made a huge impact in the broadcast community in recent months. Kick offers significantly higher revenue shares for publishers and publishers benefit from 95/5 shares. The platform, which attracts attention with the switch of big publishers like xQc to Kick, is gaining popularity among publishers.
