Hundreds without power in Östergötland

The heavy snowfall and the heavy wet snow are now causing new power outages in the county. Most customers are affected in Norrköping and Kinda.

At the moment, there is no forecast for when the power may be restored.

At 2 p.m. on Saturday, almost 900 households were without power, but just before 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve, most of them had their electricity restored.

Trees that folded

During the day, the power lines are inspected by helicopter to discover trees that have fallen over the lines.

At 09:30 on Monday, more power cuts had occurred and 1,837 of Eon’s customers in Östergötland county were without power.

– It’s trees that have bent and laid on the wires, which is causing the interruptions. Our installers work hard on this, but sometimes it can take a little time as there can be very difficult terrain, says Lena Berglund, Eon’s press service.

Update the outage map

Furthermore, she urges customers to update the electricity company’s outage map to get a forecast of when the fault can be rectified in the municipality concerned.

At 18:00 on Monday, over 300 of Eon’s customers were without power.
