How is it going in the Finnish skiers’ sprint qualifying – EPN follows the final weekend of Falun | Sport

Poromaa misses the sprint – may need surgery

William Poromaa injured his left thumb last weekend in the Holmenkollen 50 km race. The Swedish skier has received a start permit for this weekend’s games in Falun, but he has decided to skip Friday’s sprint.

Poromaa fell in the final moments of Kollen’s race, and further examinations showed that his thumb might need surgery.

– You can’t see what’s there from the pictures. It would have to be opened to see it, Poromaa said for SVT.

– It is better for the future to cut. It’s quite a lot, but now is a good time.

Ebba Andersson will not be seen in today’s sprint either. Andersson has had problems with his knee, and he wants to focus especially on Saturday’s top ten race.

– All week I have been hoping that the knee would calm down, but I need a few days to be 100% ready for the competition, Andersson said For Expressen.

The World Cup season of Sofia Henriksson and Calle Halfvarsson, skiers of the Swedish national team, ended prematurely. Halfvarsson got sick before Holmenkollen, and he hasn’t had time to recover for the Falun Games. Henriksson, on the other hand, has not recovered from Holmenkollen’s fiftieth.
