After Säpo decided to raise the terror threat level from 3 to 4, the court announces that the work on the king’s jubilee celebrations continues as planned – and that the security work is already there.

In a written response to TT, Margareta Thorgren, head of information for the Royal Court states, writes that the court has a security organization in place that manages the security of the royal family together with, among other things, the Security Police (Säpo) and the police.

The security work is constantly ongoing, but the court declines to comment on what measures will be taken after the decision on Thursday, but writes that the security increase is included in the planning.

Even the work with already planned arrangements – for example the celebration of the king’s 50 years on the throne, when the king and queen will, among other things, travel in cortege through Stockholm – is unchanged.

“We have confidence in the security work and what is done based on the world we live in”, writes Margareta Thorgren in her answer and then clarifies by phone.

– We live in this world and then you have to adapt different things. I think people opened their eyes to that when the crime on Drottninggatan took place, since then you see things in a different way, she explains.

TT: Are arrangements with invited guests to the royal house affected?

– No, this change that came this week does not directly affect the program planning as far as the guests are concerned, because we already have good security beforehand and work after that, says Margareta Thorgren.
