A hot air balloon has crashed on a roof in Staffanstorp. According to information to the Maritime and Air Rescue Centre, about 20 people were in the balloon.
No one should be seriously injured after the incident.
– The basket is on the ground so people could climb out of it, says Lars Nilsson, air rescue leader at the Maritime and Air Rescue Centre.
The alarm about the incident was received at 21.30. The hot air balloon must have landed on a roof, causing residents in the house to raise the alarm.
– But considering the wind and so on, it can sometimes go wrong. Parts of it are in the garden and parts over the roof, says Lars Nilsson.
“Want to get in touch with the pilot”
According to him, an accident report must be drawn up.
– Now we want to get in touch with the pilot about how this could happen.
The emergency services were the first on the scene, and must have assessed that the situation was under control. The house is surrounded by large fields.
The police, who are also on the scene, state that the accident was due to misjudgment of the wind and the landing.
