New Deadpool Wolverine statement turns everything we knew about

With Deadpool & Wolverine we can look forward to it the craziest multiverse spectacle since Spider-Man: No Way Home be happy. At least that’s what the current hype surrounding the Marvel sequel promises, which is supposed to delight with countless Easter eggs, references and appearances by well-known characters or surprising stars.

Now Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy has spoken out about the film again and made a promise that distorts expectations of the blockbuster.

Deadpool & Wolverine is intended to entertain completely without prior knowledge

According to Comic Book, the director made a statement to the Associated Press saying the upcoming Deadpool sequel probably less to no prior knowledge of superheroes presupposes what was previously assumed:

I was a good student at school. As an adult, I will do my homework. But I definitely don’t plan on doing homework when I go to the movies. I made this film with a healthy respect and gratitude for the passionate fan base that has a deep command of the mythology and worlds of these characters and this world. But I didn’t want to assume that. This film is intended to be entertainment without the obligation to be prepared with prior research.

So far it is certain that the TVA (Time Variance Authority), which was introduced in the Loki series on Disney+, plays a role in the story of Deadpool & Wolverine. There have also been leaks of set images many stars and characters teasedwho can delight with surprise appearances in the upcoming Marvel blockbuster.

However, according to Levy’s latest statement, it is no longer so clear how large this proportion of Easter eggs and references will ultimately be. In the end, they may just be accessories to the story, which also works independently without much prior knowledge.
