Hooja boycotts Rockbjörnen – after Aftonbladet’s disclosure

On Monday, the music group went The company out that they are boycotting this year’s Rockbjörn after Aftonbladet’s revelation. The company criticized that Hooja’s identities were revealed against their will. Now Hooja chooses to comment on the incident and Rockbjörnen.

Boycott the Rock Bear

On Tuesday afternoon, Hooja published a post and an event on their Instagram where they announced that they will not be present at the Rockbjörnen, a music award given out by Aftonbladet. This despite the fact that they are nominated in the categories group of the year, breakthrough of the year, fans of the year and Swedish song of the year.

“Many people ask if we are going to Rockbjörnen this year, and the answer is no. Thank you to everyone who voted for us, not a damn prize in the world can compare to having you as Poles,” the duo writes in their Instagram event.

In a post, the duo wrote that they said from day one that Hooja could be anyone – because it’s so much bigger to them than just two people.

In the comments section, the duo receives support from followers who stand behind their decision.

“We stand with you through it all. Poles helping polers!” writes a user.

But the tone is also harsh towards Aftonbladet in the comments section:

“Can’t people just boycott the shitty newspaper instead, that’s the only thing that hurts,” writes another user.
