Here, Theo Ebbesson gets his revenge in Idol – after the bullying

20-year-old Theo Ebbesson is one of all applicants in Monday’s Idol. He steps into the jury and excels, but the path there has not been obvious. In one feature, we hear him talk about his low self-confidence – and the bullying that made him drop out of school.

– My self-confidence has been quite low and it is still quite low. In the sixth grade I started getting a little bullied and in the eighth grade there was a lot of harassment and a lot of bullying. So I dropped out of school when I was in the eighth grade, says Theo in the segment.

“At first we thought there was something wrong with me”

It made Theo think there was something wrong with him.

– At first we thought there was something wrong with me, but then it turned out that I probably have Asperger’s. Which makes it difficult for me to get into social situations, and is the reason why I was bullied when I was younger, he says.

– If there is something I like, I can learn it almost immediately. I get very sharp on that too. And stuff I don’t like, I can’t learn at all, no matter how hard I try. It doesn’t settle, he continues.

Stepping into the jury and grabbing a golden ticket would be revenge for him, getting to refute everyone who didn’t believe in him.

– There are a lot of people who didn’t believe in me. If I get a golden ticket, I can prove “you were wrong – fuck you”, says Theo.

Theo’s revenge in Idol

And it will be a revenge! He gets four yeses and a golden ticket to take with him from there.

– It’s so crazy! Words cannot describe how it felt. I sang and then there was silence, and then I hear the jury say that I have the best voice they have heard. What the fuck what’s going on? says Theo to now TV4.

The fact that it will now be shown in the TV box, he also considers to be sick – and at the same time very fun.

– It’s actually a bit crazy. I had no idea that the questions they asked would be posted like that. But I’m a goddamn cheerleader, I don’t mind how they laid it out. I started chuckling when I looked at it myself, he says.
