Several people have been arrested after a major fight in Malmö on Monday evening. According to the police, at least five people have been taken to hospital.
– What we think we know right now is that two people have started arguing and that additional people have joined. The whole thing has then escalated and the number I have right now is that five people were injured, says Rickard Lundqvist, press spokesperson at the police.
It is unclear what types of injuries the people received, and whether any kind of weapon was used in connection with the incident. According to the police, several people have been arrested.
– It’s about the majority, but I don’t have the exact number. What crime they are suspected of is not specified, but it is a violent crime. Then we talk the least about abuse, says Rickard Lundqvist.
The incident occurred near the People’s Park. The police have not been able to state the age and gender of the people involved.
The alarm came in just before 9 p.m. on Monday.
