Despite Macron’s government failing to gain a majority in parliament, the retirement age in France will be raised to 64. The proposal has been very unpopular, something that is clearly felt when Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne was to give a speech about this in the National Assembly on Thursday.

The opposition held up signs with the text “No to 64 years”, and interrupted the prime minister’s speech by singing the national anthem.
