Hätta Isaksen debuts as a solo artist

Ella Marie Hætta Isaksen, 25, first broke through when she won the Sámi Grand Prix in 2016 with her self-written song Luoddaearru.

The following year she started the band ISÁK together with Daniel Eriksen and Aleksander Kostopoulos.

But after the band’s decision to shut down last year, she will now for the first time stand on her own two feet and debut as a solo artist.

Isaksen has started work on releasing a solo album and her debut concert will be this summer at the Riddu Riđđu music festival.

“Incredibly grateful”

– I am so incredibly grateful to debut as a solo artist on a stage that means so much to me. When I now have to present myself as a solo artist, it feels completely right to do it in Sápmi, says Hætta Isaksen according to NRK Sápmi.

Festival director Sajje Solbakk is satisfied with the booking.

– We feel that this is an exclusive booking and it feels great that she is holding her very first concert as a solo artist at Riddu Riđđu. It will be very special to experience Ella Marie’s brand new material in the world’s most beautiful surroundings, he says in a press release.

A few weeks ago, Hætta Isaksen revealed that she will get married in Kautokeino next year together with music producer Lars Kristian Rosness.
