Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League you embody a team of villains. Including the crazy jokester Harley Quinn. But who is that actually?

What is Suicide Squad about? In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the supervillain Brainiac attacked Metropolis, turned the residents into monsters and also turned (almost) the entire Justice League into his brainwashed minions.

The only solution: to let the worst villains out of Arkham Asylum and set them on the former heroes and their sinister taskmaster.

Harley Quinn doesn’t have any special powers per se, but thanks to a serum from her friend Poison Ivy, she can resist almost all poisons and is now stronger and faster than ordinary people. Therefore, she is often underestimated by her opponents and can escape from captivity time and time again.

She has a special enmity with Batman because she holds him responsible for the death of her beloved Joker.

What is her backstory? Harleen Quinzel was once a promising young psychotherapist who worked at the infamous Arkham Asylum. She has always been fascinated by the psyche of insane criminals, especially the crown jewel of Arkham Asylum: the Joker.

However, Harleen quickly became a victim of the insane crime lords herself and he manipulated her more with each therapy session. Eventually, Harleen fell for him and at some point believed that she and the Joker were the perfect couple and that he would love her as much as she loved him.

This ultimately led to Harleen helping the Joker escape by smuggling explosives into Arkham and then introducing her new personality: Harley Quinn, a nickname once given to her by the Joker.

Together with the Joker, she terrorized Gotham City and was repeatedly confronted by Batman. She was always loyal to the Joker, although he was anything but loving towards her. In her obsession with “Mr J”, Harley Quinn regularly suppressed this.

When the Joker finally met his end in the game Arkham City, she completely freaked out and wanted to kill herself, Batman and Robin in a huge explosion, but this was just avoided. In the meantime, Harley Quinn has apparently slowly gotten over the loss of the Joker and ended up in prison again after the events in the Arkham Knight game. From there, she is recruited by Amanda Waller and forced to join the Suicide Squad against Brainiac and the Justice League.

What role does she play in the game? Harley Quinn is one of the nimble and acrobatic heroes in the game. She can playfully jump around her opponents and dodge attacks with ease. Her acrobatic escapades are made particularly effective by her hijacked Bat-Drone. This former Batman gadget always hovers near her and with the help of a grappling hook gun, Harley can move around quickly, even if no suitable building or similar anchor points are available.

Harley Quinn is also a deadly fighter. She prefers pistols and rapid-fire weapons to engage enemies at medium distances. She also uses all sorts of explosive gadgets from the Joker’s arsenal. But she especially enjoys it when an opponent gets really close, because then she pulls out her beloved baseball bat. With this she effectively beats even Brainaic’s big followers to a pulp.

So when you play Harley Quinn, you should always make sure to keep moving and attack enemies from where they don’t expect you. But that shouldn’t be a problem with the Joker’s quick and lively ex. You can also expect a lot of black anarcho humor when you embody this anti-heroine in the game.
If you want to shake up Metropolis with Harley Quinn and her fellow sufferers soon and thrash the Justice League, then pre-order Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for PS 5, Xbox Series X/S or PC here.
