HandOfBlood has been streaming on Twitch for 2 days and is already passing (almost) everyone

At the beginning of the week, Maximilian “HandOfBlood” Knabe (31) surprised his fans by announcing that he would stream regularly on Twitch in the future and would scale back video production for YouTube. We’ll tell you how things are going for the content creator after 2 days. Spoiler: pretty good.

HandOfBlood is on Twitch? The content creator is actually better known for elaborate YouTube videos, for which he takes on the craziest roles. But in a video from January 16, 2024, HandOfBlood explained that he wanted to stream more regularly on Twitch in the future.

According to the 31-year-old, he lacks passion for video production; it is stressful and not particularly worthwhile. Actually, he just wanted to gamble. You can find out what happens next with his YouTube channels here:

HandOfBlood is not entirely new on Twitch, but he has hardly been on air there since 2020 and prefers to concentrate on YouTube. The content creator tended to use streams for special occasions, such as his Influencer Darts World Cup. For the 31-year-old, as well as his viewers, streaming is now a change.

HandOfBlood is known for giving his all to his videos:

Lord of the Rings: Gollum was poorly received – HandOfBlood plays it anyway, tries really hard, even plays in cosplay

How are things going for HandOfBlood on Twitch? HandOfBlood could hardly have wished for a better debut on Twitch. The success was already apparent before it even went on air: As soon as he announced the change, an offline chat had already formed on Twitch, and the first viewers had already subscribed to the channel (via X.com)

When the first “real” stream followed on January 17, 2024, HandOfBlood was initially a little nervous. However, that didn’t dampen the mood. The content creator also received support from friendly colleagues such as Kalle Koschinsky and Sterzig.

But the experienced entertainer quickly found his groove and entertained the audience with League of Legends and Dark Souls.

What do the statistics say? HandOfBlood doesn’t have to hide in terms of numbers either and can already keep up with the biggest German streamers: With just two streams completed, the content creator is already in second place in the German Twitch charts according to average viewers, just behind Papaplatte.

In terms of hours watched, HandOfBlood is currently in third place, behind Papaplatte and EliasN97 – although with 10 and 13 hours of stream time less than the competition (via SullyGnome).

This is how HandOfBlood summarizes its first stream: On X, formerly Twitter, the newly minted streamer was overwhelmed and thanked his fans for their support. With a single stream he was able to reach more than 387,000 viewers and gain over 21,800 new followers:

In the last minutes of his first stream, HandOfBlood drew a positive conclusion: He couldn’t really appreciate everything because there was just so much. The content creator suspects that it will be a “difficult change” for his YouTube viewers.

They now have to get used to the new process and it is always difficult when something changes. HandOfBlood appreciates even more how viewers with a little more Twitch experience help the newcomers and explain functions.

Overall, HandOfBlood’s Twitch debut can be considered a success.

It remains to be seen whether HandOfBlood can maintain the initial hype and bring its YouTube viewers to Twitch in the long term. It can be assumed that the strong numbers from the beginning will subside after a while as soon as the “new factor” is gone. But fortunately the streaming platform is not the 31-year-old’s only mainstay. Because HandofBlood becomes a publisher and wants to release indie games in 2024: “Blizzard can’t give you any more”
