Greta Thunberg in Kiruna: “Certainly demonstrations pay off”

She arrived on the morning train, just before the demonstration for lost lands was to begin in the new Kiruna center. Young people from the Sami villages of Gabna and Laevas organized the demonstration together with Fridays for future.

“Requires substantial adjustment”

Greta Thunberg listened to the many speakers and to emotional pieces of music. Then she went on stage herself.

– A continued colonization of Sápmi is not a green transition as those in power would like us to believe, she said.

Instead, a major change is required, which challenges the systems that caused climate change, she continued.

In the clip above, you can see what Greta Thunberg thinks about the demonstration in Kiruna.
