Swedish households are pessimistic about housing prices. Expectations are falling and this is the strongest case since the beginning of the pandemic, according to SEB’s housing price indicator. 47 percent of the 1,000 households surveyed believe that prices will fall in the coming year – which is an increase of 23 units from the previous month. – The economic everyday life is starting to catch up with households. Rising interest rates, high inflation, high energy prices and now also high fuels. All this erodes households’ wallets, says Américo Fernández, private economist at SEB.
