German streamer has been live on Twitch for two weeks, increasing his subscriptions by 1,400%

Streamer Shlorox has been on Twitch for more than two weeks. This has now been rewarded with a new record.

What kind of streamer is this? Shlorox is primarily known as a roleplayer in GTA 5. The action-adventure makes up a majority of his total stream time. When he’s not in GTA, Shlorox chats with his viewers in “Just Chatting” or plays games like Arma 3, Counter-Strike or even one or two MMORPGs.

Shlorox has been streaming regularly on Twitch for years and was even in the top 10 most-watched German streamers of the year from 2018 to 2020 (via SullyGnome). Now the streamer has set a new record and even overtaken the German number 1, EliasN97.

Internationally, the former Overwatch professional xQc was the undisputed number 1 on Twitch for a long time:

What kind of record is this? On the evening of Friday, March 1, 2024, Shlorox broke the record for the most simultaneous paid subscriptions on German Twitch. The record was previously held by the currently largest German streamer EliasN97 with 85,475 subs. The Berliner took the record from Trymacs in 2023.

Shlorox currently has more than 90,000 simultaneous subs and is ranked second internationally, behind Jynxzi, the big winner on Twitch (as of March 2, 2024, via TwitchTracker).

How did he do that? Shlorox is currently hosting a so-called Subathon – a marathon stream in which every paid subscription extended extends the duration of the stream. The concept even gave another streamer two world records at once.

Shlorox has been live since February 15th, so almost 400 hours (as of March 2nd, 2024). He is supported by fellow streamers – when one goes to sleep, another gets up to entertain the viewers. This way you can still have entertainment even in the middle of the night.

However, this also means that the number of average viewers is surprisingly low: After all, significantly fewer people watch at night, which accordingly shifts the average downwards.

But even with his peak of almost 9,000 simultaneous viewers, Shlorox doesn’t come close to colleagues like Papaplatte, EliasN97 or Gronkh, who often have tens of thousands of viewers. It’s all the more impressive that the streamer’s community has now given him the sub-record.

Incidentally, Shlorox started with just over 6,000 subscriptions – so in just 16 days he was able to gain 84,000 subs.

During his subathon, Shlorox primarily shows various games such as Counter-Strike 2. However, he also used his current hype for a good cause: the streamer diligently collected donations at the charity campaign of his Twitch colleague Metashi12 on March 1st. In total, more than 100,000 euros have already been raised for German cancer aid.
