The number of attacks has continued to increase in the Netherlands, even though the police have intensified their intervention.

There have already been 250 explosions or attempted attacks in the Netherlands this year, according to the country’s police broadcasting company Nosin by.

The number can be considered very high if you compare it to, for example, Sweden, which received a lot of media coverage for the same issue. There, the police have recorded a total of 77 explosions, attempted explosions or their preparation this year.

In the Netherlands, explosions are primarily carried out in the areas of the largest cities Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

According to the police, most of the explosions are related to disputes between criminal gangs. The perpetrators of the attacks are relatively young, some even minors. On Thursday, the police arrested a 13-year-old for involvement in the explosion. Many of them carry out attacks on behalf of gangs.

In addition, the police suspect that other people have also started to copy the behavior of gangs. Explosive attacks have also been carried out, for example, by quarreling couples and neighbors.

The plumber has already been attacked 12 times

The gangs have carried out attacks on cars, homes and other properties, among other things.

As explosives, they usually use fireworks, but more powerful ones homemade explosives have become more common. The explosions have caused mostly material destruction. However, personal injuries have not been avoided.

A 23-year-old man died in an explosion in January. In addition, the attacks cause fear and stress for the surrounding residents.

A plumber and his family living in Vlaardingen near Rotterdam have had to suffer especially a lot from the explosions. There have already been 12 attacks against his home in the past year.

Due to the exceptional threat, the municipality of Vlaardingen has ordered special security measures in front of the plumber’s home on several occasions. The last time the order was renewed was yesterday, Thursday, when the home was hit again. In total, the security measures have already cost the municipality 250,000 euros, says Nos.

One attacker and one attempted attacker have been arrested, but the perpetrator of the explosions has not been caught. The plumber has said that he does not know why he is being attacked.

In Holland, the number of explosions has grown rapidly. Last year the number tripled. Explosions have increased this year as well, even though the police have intensified their intervention.
