Now the stars meet – in a historic duel.

Frida Karlsson and Ebba Andersson are two of Swedish skiing’s true greats. Frida Karlsson has at times dominated in recent seasons, both in the World Cup and in major championships.
Historic meeting
Ebba Andersson became last year’s great WC queen, and even though she had a harder winter, she still belongs to the absolute world elite, and towards the end of the season she found her form. But even though Frida Karlsson and Ebba Andersson were rivals in many races during the spring, it is a meeting that is still missing.
Frida Karlsson and Ebba Andersson are both from Sollefteå, but the fact is that the duo have never before met in their old hometown. A fact that almost sounds too strange for Frida Karlsson.
– Well, then…it must have been a long time ago. I only have some faint memories of maybe us competing against each other as children, says Frida Karlsson to Expressen.
Frida’s fit
But now, after all these years, the time has come. In this weekend’s final tour of the Smart Energy Cup, the competitions take place in Sollefteå, and for Frida Karlsson it will be big to compete against Ebba on home ground.
– It is still a real duel for the throne at home. Once I stand there on the starting line, it will be a bit prestigious, says Frida Karlsson.
However, Ebba Andersson downplays the rivalry in advance. Instead, she believes that it is just to go out and enjoy, for both her and Frida.
– I think that we are both mostly happy to be at home and compete. It’s something really extra.
