Frida Karlsson’s clear criticism of the national team – furious at the decision after the defection: “Feels painted black”

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist have left the national ski team.
But a decision by the union has now led to disappointment.
– They feel painted black, says mother Mia Karlsson.

Linn Svahn has earlier in the year decided to leave the national ski team. She is now rehabilitating her injured shoulder, and will in future train with her own coaches, outside the national team’s training group. And on Monday, the big bomb exploded.

“He did not even go out with it”

Frida Karlsson, Sweden’s biggest star in cross-country skiing, and Maja Dahlqvist, one of our biggest sprint stars, also choose to leave the national team. The reason is said to be that you want to follow your own thread in training, and above all reduce the number of days when you are in camp.

The duo and the union have said that there are no “hard feelings”, but there is still some disappointment. Mia Karlsson, mother and manager of Frida Karlsson, says that they were not completely satisfied with how the union announced it all.

– They did not even have time to go out to their partners and to their teammates in the national team with this, but it was just printed as a press release. They could have done it together with the union, but that did not happen. But they are not enemies with their ski friends, she tells SVT.

Felt black painted

At the same time, Mia Karlsson believes that Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist felt black-painted by how the union announced the whole thing.

– It was their (Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist) opinion when they read the press release, which they received two minutes before it went out.

Mia Karlsson is open about the fact that the disappointment can linger for a long time, but at the same time she is happy that a break is now expected.

– The advantage is that they do not have to deal with each other so much for a few months. Right now it’s about them having to land in this situation. Now the three are standing outside. They will certainly hang a lot together, says Mia Karlsson.

She is of course referring to Linn Svahn, and it is not directly a weak trio that has now left the national team.
