Found hundreds of small bugs in Coop’s own pasta: So dirty

Found hundreds of small bugs in Coops own pasta So

Karlstad resident Tommy Saxenborn’s pasta lunch did not turn out as planned.

Before he could put his fork into the freshly cooked penne rigat from Coop’s own range, he saw that it was decorated with black dots – which turned out to be hundreds of small insects.

– It was so dirty. I don’t even eat animals, I’m vegan.

It was last Thursday that 39-year-old Tommy Saxenborn and his partner Caroline discovered that something was not right with the penne rigate package they bought from Coop’s own range.

The Karlstad residents had dumped the newly opened pasta into boiling water when they saw a small black dot bobbing in the pan.

– We didn’t think about it anymore. But then when we poured the water, we realized what the first straw was. It was a small bug. And it was not alone. There were about a hundred small insects that embraced and crawled into the tubes of the pasta, says Tommy Saxenborn.

Coop apologized

The couple, who have been vegans for three years, were “horrified” by the unwanted pests.

– It was so dirty. I don’t even eat animals, I’m vegan. So we decided to throw the pan away.

The couple then contacted Coop.

– They apologized and gave us SEK 86 back.

“Gets irritated and disgusted”

But Tommy Saxenborn did not think it was a reasonable compensation for what the couple had been through.

Finally, Coop came back and told us that they had increased the amount to SEK 120.

– It is still an unreasonable sum. Pasta is a staple food and now pasta is burned for us forever. Every time I think about pasta I get annoyed and disgusted at the same time.

What do you think would have been a reasonable compensation?

– I actually don’t know that. The whole thing is just so sick and disgusting.

Aftonbladet has contacted Coop, who states that they will return with a comment.
