Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also appointed a new interior minister, environment minister, health minister and another finance minister.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has appointed a former prime minister David Cameron’s as the country’s new foreign minister. Worked as foreign minister in Sunak’s government until now James Cleverly on the other hand, will be transferred to the position of Minister of the Interior.

Cameron, representing the Conservatives, served as British Prime Minister from 2010 to 2016. Cameron resigned as prime minister after the British voted for Brexit, i.e. leaving the EU. He himself supported Britain remaining in the EU. With Cameron’s resignation, the Brexit negotiations were left behind by his successor Theresa May on the shoulders.

A few months after resigning as Prime Minister, Cameron announced that he would also resign as a member of Parliament. Cameron’s departure from parliament at the time was considered exceptionally quick. Previous prime ministers had resigned from their parliamentary seat only a few years after leaving the office of prime minister.

Sunak also appointed the former health minister Steve Barclay’s as the new environment minister. Barclay replaces the one who previously held the position Therese Coffey.

In addition Victoria Atkins was appointed Minister of Health. He replaces the one who previously held the position by Laura Trott. Trott, on the other hand, will become the second Minister of Finance Jeremy Hunt’s alongside.

Reorganization of the board is underway

The fresh ministerial appointments are part of a wider reorganization of the British government, which began with him serving as Home Secretary Suella Braverman’s of the dismissal earlier today. He managed to hold office for more than a year.

The dismissal of Braverman, who represents the right wing of the Conservative Party, began to be demanded last week after the minister’s aggravation with his comments about the demonstrations organized on behalf of the Palestinians.

In the article he wrote, Braverman accused the British police of bias and characterized the demonstrations as “hate marches”. According to him, the police have largely failed to react to the demonstrations against Israel’s military actions in Gaza organized in Britain.
