First trailer for Christopher Nolans Oppenheimer hints at explosive inferno

After the crazy action-mindfuck Tenet, Christopher Nolan probably shifts down a few gears again. His latest film is based on the true story of J. Robert Oppenheimer and the creation of the first atomic bomb inspired. The main character is played by Cillian Murphy, with whom Nolan has often shot.

Before the theatrical release in July 2023 is now the first long trailer appeared on Oppenheimer. You can watch the video teasing a morally tricky explosion inferno right here. Even Transformers king Michael Bay should be jealous.

Here is the first trailer of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer in German:

Nolan recreated the atomic bomb explosion for Oppenheimer without CGI

Oppenheimer should be a mix of biopic, war film and thriller. The plot is all about that moral dilemma the construction of such a dangerous weapon as the atomic bomb. While Murphy’s protagonist is convinced of the design, Robert Downey Jr., in the role of historical figure Lewis Strauss as a member of the US Atomic Energy Agency, clashes with the main character.

In a recent Variety interview, Nolan opened up about the Oppenheimer shoot and revealed that he had the film’s very first atomic bomb test recreated without CGI effects. The usual obsessive technology perfectionism of the master director should also make itself felt in his latest film.

From the 20th of July we can all see for ourselves. Then Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer will start in German cinemas.
