Swedish Swifties – this awaits you

Taylor Swift’s mammoth tour “The eras tour” is no small story. Launched in March last year, it is Swift’s sixth in a row and spans five continents. The tour has already broken several records – including being the highest-grossing tour ever, with revenues to date exceeding ten billion dollars.

Each concert on the tour is over three hours long and divided into different segments representing Swift’s ten studio albums.

The tour, which has consistently received favorable reviews, has dominated the popular culture news feed since its inception and in the countries where it has made an impact, the economy and tourism have received a boost. Even here in Sweden, the economy is expected to be lifted – by half a billion.

New songs

But what do the Swedish fans expect when Swift comes to Sweden for three concerts this weekend? A slightly different version of the concert than how the first part of the tour has looked, if the European premiere in Paris last week is to be believed.

For the European shows, Swift has reworked the track list, which now contains seven new songs from the latest album “The tortured poets department” which was released a month ago. The albums “Folklore” and “Evermore” have been merged into one segment, and six songs have been completely removed from the show, including “Long live” and “The last great American dynasty”.

On the first part of the tour, the American singer Sabrina Carpenter has been the opening act, but on the Sweden concerts it is the rock band Paramore who will open for Swift.

Boyfriend in the audience

The Swedish fans can also expect new outfits from Swift. Famous fashion houses such as Elie Saab, Oscar de la Renta, Versace and Roberto Cavalli are behind her lavish stage clothes, and in Paris she appeared in a new, glittering, orange bodysuit, among other things.

She also appeared in a yellow sweater and red skirt – colors seen as a nod to boyfriend Travis Kelce. He plays in the American football team Kansas City Chiefs, whose official colors are yellow and red.

When she performs the song “So high school”, which many fans believe is about her and Kelce’s relationship, the stage decor is also reminiscent of an American football field.

The fourth and final, naturally sold-out, concert in Paris on Sunday was Taylor Swift’s 87th on the world tour. Then Travis Kelce, whose Kansas City Chiefs jersey number is 87, was in the audience. Whether he also appears in Sweden remains to be seen.

The concert is divided into nine segments, each part containing songs from the albums “Lover”, “Fearless”, “Red”, “Speak now”, “Reputation”, “Folklore and “Evermore”, “1989”, “The tortured poets department” and “Midnights”.

The stage decor includes, among other things, a moss-covered piano, a UFO projection, a glitter-strewn acoustic guitar, a forest cabin and a giant dollhouse.

Swift is flanked by 15 dancers, choreographed by Mandy Moore. Moore was recommended by Swift’s friend, the actor Emma Stone, who worked with her for the film “La la land”.
