Family home parents acquitted of manslaughter in the Donia case

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

A little more than ten years ago, 15-year-old Donia Hassan died of pneumonia in her family home, a case that Kalla Fakta reviewed. Her biological parents started a legal process against the foster parents through a so-called individual prosecution and during Monday morning the verdict came. The foster parents are acquitted of the charge of murder. The charge of grossly causing the death of another is also dismissed due to the statute of limitations, Lund district court writes in a press release. After the death, prosecutors have assessed in several rounds that no crime that falls under general prosecution had been committed and therefore no preliminary investigation was ever initiated.
