Lucy (Ella Purnell) and her father (Kyle MacLachlan)

Moldaver reveals to Lucy that her supposedly perfect father responsible for the nuclear annihilation of an entire city is. When Lucy’s mother fled the dark secrets of her bunker company with her child to the city of Shady Sands, he pursued her, took their daughter away from her and destroyed their new home with a nuclear strike. The bomb killed many thousands of people and turned Lucy’s mother into a horribly disfigured ghoul. But that’s not all.

In a flashback to Cooper Howard’s past, we learn that the bunker operators from the company Vault-Tec Nuclear war that devastated the world started itself have. And that’s just to make money from their bunkers, which would have been useless without destruction and contamination. And that’s not all: Howard’s wife Barb (Frances Turner), actually one of the warmest characters in the series, is one of the architects of the horrifically cruel act.

2 Easter Eggs hint at Fallout Season 2

New Vegas at the end of Fallout Season 1

In the final scene we see Lucy’s father fleeing through the desert. There are two Easter eggs for fans of the games to discover here. The smaller one is the skull of a so-called Deathclaw in the desert sand. The iconic and extremely dangerous creature represents the Fallout franchise like no other.

The bigger Easter egg is the city that Lucy’s father is heading towards. Based on the skyline, it is for fans easy to identify as New Vegas, the setting of the popular video game spin-off of the same name. And apparently also the setting for the second Fallout season.

Fallout Season 2 must answer these more open questions

Additionally, there are many issues that need to be resolved in Season 2. What happens next with Lucy’s brother Norman (Moises Arias), who discovered the secret of his bunker? All of his bunker’s leaders are actually Vault-Tec managers from the past, artificially frozen in a secret area and thawed when necessary. This also includes his father. At the end of Season 1, Norman is imprisoned in Bunker 31 by some kind of robot.

Goggins’ Cooper Howard will grow on many fans in Season 1. Season 2 needs to show how he became a ghoul. And what happened to his family during the nuclear apocalypse. There are also some detailed questions: Why was Moldavian able to survive for more than 200 years? At least, unlike Howard, she hasn’t become a ghoul. The series makers have not yet given an answer to this.
