Burglary at Systembolaget during Walborg did not steal alcohol

The eve of Valborg fair was noisy in different parts of the country. In total, there were 57 reports of drunkenness and 19 people were taken into care. In addition to this, there were also 36 reports of assault and seven people who have been detained.

The most tumult is said to have been in Enskede in Stockholm, Falkenberg and Västra Götaland where the police had to work intensively.

At the same time, the Walpurgis celebrations in the large student cities of Uppsala and Lund were relatively calm.

The state-owned company sells millions of liters of spirits, cider, beer and wine a year in Sweden. But before Valborg, there has been a lot of confusion at Systembolaget.

In April, Systembolaget’s subcontractor was subjected to an IT attack. This meant that several orders were canceled in front of Valborg itself. Earlier in April, there were problems with distribution at the company, which caused many to worry that the shelves would be empty before the celebration.

In Tingsryd, there was a break-in at Systembolaget during the night between Walborg fair night and May 1. According to P4 Kronoberg The break-in is said to have taken place around four in the morning.

It was during Thursday, May 2 that the police discovered that someone had broken open the door to the store.

According to the police, they have secured some leads but currently have no suspects for the crime.
