Europeans 2024: to register on the electoral lists, it’s now!

Europeans 2024 to register on the electoral lists its now

The European elections will take place on June 9, 2024 in the 27 countries of the European Union. To be sure you can vote, there is still time to register on the electoral rolls of your municipality.

The next European elections are fast approaching. On June 9, citizens across Europe will go to the polls to elect their representatives who will sit in the European Parliament. To be sure of voting, there is only a little time left for non-registered voters to make their arrangements: the deadline is May 3, 2024.

Two categories of people must register: first-time voters and those who have moved from their previous place of residence.

Citizens will have turned 18 before the next election and who have completed their citizen census at the age of 16 are automatically registered on the electoral lists of their municipality. This is also the case for people who became French after 2018. In the context of the European elections, a European citizen can vote from the country where they reside as long as they have the right to vote in their country of origin and he is registered in the municipality where he resides.

People who have moved since the previous election must register with their new municipality of residence to participate in the elections. If these people have moved but still reside in the same municipality, it is enough to have declared a change of residence to be registered again on the electoral lists.

How to register ?

In the last two cases, you must attach to your request proof of address less than 3 months old, as well as proof of identity. If in doubt about your situation, verification is possible via the site Service-public.fr
