Esapekka Lappi will continue in the World Rally Championship as a Hyundai driver in the coming season as well. However, the role of Lapland, which has toured the entire World Series this year, will change significantly. Next year, Lapland will run only selected sub-races.

– I am happy that I can continue my cooperation with Hyundai in the coming season as well. I feel comfortable. We have shown that we have a successful package. I want to continue to develop and succeed in rallying, Lappi said in Hyundai’s press release.

Lappi will drive Hyundai’s third car next year and will support the team’s top drivers For Thierry Neuville and To Ott Tänak.

– Next year will be different and interesting in many ways, which motivates me to be a team player and succeed on an individual level as well, commented 32-year-old Lappi.

Team manager Cyril Abiteboul emphasizes Lapland’s role as a team player.

– Lapland’s task is to support Thierry (Neuville) and Otti (Tänak) in the championship fight and to focus on the development of the car. Esapekka has shown that he is good at that, Abiteboul said.
