Equestrian sport: The elite rider reported to the police: “Strongly refutes allegations of mishandling of horses”

“I strongly refute the allegations of mismanagement of horses. I am of course not infallible, but I am adamant that our care and training of horses is carried out with the utmost respect and in accordance with established norms and regulations,” writes the man who belongs to the top echelon of Swedish equestrian sport.

In an investigation in Aftonbladet, it was described how horses are punished violently, and also that the man acted unacceptable towards staff. The review led to the Swedish Equestrian Federation reporting the rider to the police on Wednesday, after collecting their own testimonies.

The elite rider refers to an independent veterinary examination, the latest this week, which showed no objections. In addition, the elite rider points out that investigations from authorities show that rules and norms have been followed.
