EPN’s information: Kiekko-Espoo requires the same conditions from the SM league as from previous upstarts | Sport

Kiekko Espoo confirmed Will soon submit an SM league application

KooKoo, Sport and Jukurit each paid 1.8 million euros for the league share. SM-liiga has announced the current price of the share at 3.67 million.

The Ice Hockey Championship League announced on Wednesday that Kiekko-Espo has been granted a conditional league license. At the same time, Tuto’s license application from Turku was rejected.

In the Liiga’s press release, it was said that “in addition, there is a decision of the general meeting on a directed share issue, through which Kiekko-Espoo can subscribe for a Liiga share”.

The price of the league share has been one of the hot topics of discussion this fall. The price for Helsinki Jokeri was 3.8 million euros, Tuto 3.6 million. SM league chairman Heikki Hiltunen told that it was 3.67 million euros.

After hearing the share price, Jokerit announced that it does not aim for league promotion under those conditions.

According to Urheilu’s information, throughout the license process, Kiekko-Espoo has required that its application be evaluated according to previous criteria, i.e. in the same way as in the case of Sport, KooKoo and Jukurie, which were promoted to the League.

This practically means that Espoo is not willing to pay nearly four million for the league share.

Sport, KooKoo and Jukurit each paid 1.8 million euros for the league share. Five years were given to pay the share.
